{"id":22912,"date":"2014-04-14T11:57:47","date_gmt":"2014-04-14T09:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/france-and-germany-sign-a-joint-declaration-on-standardization-in-occupational-health-and-safety\/"},"modified":"2014-04-14T11:57:47","modified_gmt":"2014-04-14T09:57:47","slug":"france-and-germany-sign-a-joint-declaration-on-standardization-in-occupational-health-and-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/france-and-germany-sign-a-joint-declaration-on-standardization-in-occupational-health-and-safety\/","title":{"rendered":"France and Germany sign a joint declaration on standardization in occupational health and safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 25 March in Bonn (Germany), EUROGIP and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inrs.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">INRS<\/a> for France, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kan.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KAN<\/a> for Germany, signed a joint declaration to reaffirm, in an increasingly globalized context, positions that they share on topical standardization issues relating to occupational health and safety and confirm their \u201cexcellent cooperation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p> The signatories of the \u201cBonn Declaration\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emphasize the need to maintain the high level of health and safety expected as a result of the harmonized European standards which come to support the European directives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Reject the use of \u201cnew deliverables\u201d, such as the CEN Workshop Agreements (CWA) or Publicly Available Specifications (PAS), to govern aspects of occupational health and safety. Although drafted under the aegis of the standardization organizations, these documents do not reflect a consensus among the stakeholders.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Demand that limits be defined regarding the role of standardization in the service sector in defining the qualifications and competencies of the person providing the service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Invite the European standardization organizations to assess whether new draft standards coming within the scope of application of Article 153 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union \u201cwould help the Member States improve occupational health and safety or would on the contrary result in duplication of work and conflicts with the national regulations of EU Member States\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Declare themselves \u201cconcerned\u201d by the draft international standard for occupational health and safety management systems (ISO 450001) which they consider offers no value added while exerting stronger pressure for certification. \u201cThat would above all affect SMEs which would have to be certified to obtain orders as subcontractors or to take part in tender procedures.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> EUROGIP, the INRS and the KAN will continue \u201cto identify common objectives, to establish instruments for cooperation and look for ways to jointly influence the standardization process while benefiting from gains in efficiency\u201d. In their statement, the directors of these organizations called on players in other countries to support their position.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/images\/pdf\/DeclarationBonn-EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read the Bonn Declaration<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/Images\/eurogipinfos_new\/loupe1.jpg\" alt=\"loupe1\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px; float: left;\" height=\"56\" width=\"85\" \/>EUROGIP, the INRS and the KAN are co-founders of the Network of OH&amp;S experts involved in standardization, tests and certification: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.euroshnet.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Euroshnet<\/a>.<br \/>This Network aims to facilitate exchanges between experts working in occupational risk prevention organizations in order to define joint positions on the issues discussed. In particular, it organizes conferences and its website proposes discussion forums.
