Due to the globalization of construction markets, a growing number of machinery operators are working abroad, in regions of the world where the signs are different from those that they know and use in their home country.<\/p>\n<p>To enhance operating safety and efficiency, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iso.org\/iso\/home.htm?=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Organization for Standardization<\/a> (ISO) has published an international standard presenting a set of universal command gestures for cranes that can be used on construction sites throughout the world.<\/p>\n<p>ISO 16715, \u201cCranes \u2014 Hand signals used with cranes\u201d, was prepared by Technical Committee ISO\/TC 96, Sub-Committee SC 5 &#8211; Use, operation and discussion &#8211; which has 31 national members, including Japan which provides the committee secretariat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iso.org\/iso\/home\/news_index\/news_archive\/news.htm?refid=Ref1881\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read the ISO press release<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some gestures have different meanings depending on the country.
