{"id":23068,"date":"2016-02-11T16:04:58","date_gmt":"2016-02-11T15:04:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/ireland-osh-priorities-2016-2018\/"},"modified":"2016-02-11T16:04:58","modified_gmt":"2016-02-11T15:04:58","slug":"ireland-osh-priorities-2016-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/ireland-osh-priorities-2016-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"IRELAND: OSH priorities 2016-2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of January, Ged Nash TD, the Minister assigned to SMEs with the Minister for Business and Employment, launched the 2016-2018 Strategy of the Health and Safety Authority (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsa.ie\/eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HSA<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p> This new strategy is based on five health and safety priorities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12.16px; line-height: 1.3em;\">Placing more emphasis on work-related risks for <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 12.16px; line-height: 1.3em;\">health<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.16px; line-height: 1.3em;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Maintaining and developing the progress made regarding <strong>safety<\/strong> and occupational risk management.<\/li>\n<li>Placing emphasis on the health and safety risks related to <strong>chemical substances<\/strong> used by workers and by the general public.<\/li>\n<li>Providing an impartial <strong>accreditation<\/strong> service recognized at the international level.<\/li>\n<li>Continuing to change and transform the <strong>way in which we work<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;We are currently in a phase of strong economic growth, businesses are expanding rapidly and new jobs are being created every day. It is essential to continue to give priority to the safety and health of all workers in order to encourage business growth. [&#8230;] Healthy and safe labour is an essential factor for every prosperous business,&#8221; said the Minister.<\/p>\n<p> He also welcomed the fact that the HSA focused on SMEs. These enterprises, which form &#8220;the backbone of the economy&#8221;, need simple tools, such as the free <a href=\"https:\/\/hsalearning.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">e-learning portal<\/a> and the online risk assessment tool, <a href=\"https:\/\/besmart.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BeSmart<\/a>, developed by the HSA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsa.ie\/eng\/Publications_and_Forms\/Publications\/Corporate\/HSA_Strategy_Statement_2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Strategy Statement 2016-2018<\/a><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of January, Ged Nash TD, the Minister assigned to SMEs with the Minister for Business and Employment, launched the 2016-2018 Strategy of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA).
