A new Code of well-being at work has been published, bringing together in a single work the official decisions taken since 1993 pursuant to the Act of 4 August 1996 relating to worker well-being.<\/p>\n
It consists of 10 books: general principles of regulations relating to well-being, internal and external services for risk prevention and protection at work, workplaces, work equipment, physical, chemical and biological agents, ergonomics and collective and personal protective equipment. The last book focuses on specific categories of workers, such as young people and pregnant workers, and special work situations such as temporary work.<\/p>\n
The content of the measures has not been changed. However, several aspects of these texts have been adapted to make them more legible and achieve an initial form of administrative simplification.<\/p>\n
The main novelty lies in the fact that the concepts used in the regulations are clearly defined, so that the terminology is uniform throughout the Code. Examples of this are concepts related to risk analysis and concepts defining the persons involved in risk prevention policy. The disparities between the French and Dutch versions of the text have been eliminated.<\/p>\n
