Half of the sum was intended to settle old cases.<\/p>\n<p> By means of special efforts, the insurer AES was able to make up the delay in settling cases that occurred in 2014 and 2015, especially for the most complicated disabilities for which it had not been able to give a decision, and paid compensation to victims in 2017.<\/p>\n<p> The 2017 annual report also reveals the following figures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The rate of recognition of injuries increased in 2017 to around 60%, after having been about 50% in 2015 and 2016.<\/li>\n<li>In 2017, slightly less than 18,000 cases of occupational injuries were reported, i.e. the lowest level since AES has published statistics.<\/li>\n<li>About 18,000 occupational diseases were reported, i.e. the lowest level since 2009.<\/li>\n<li>The number of mental illnesses reported also decreased for the second consecutive year, from more than 5,500 in 2015 to about 4,200 in 2017.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aes.dk\/da\/Presse-og-nyheder\/Nyhedsarkiv\/2018\/11_april_Arbejdsskadeerstatninger_saetter_rekord.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">To find out more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The total amount of compensation for occupational injuries and diseases (loss of ability to work and pensions), at more than 530 million euros in 2017, is a new record for a single year.
