An agreement of principle concluded on 10 June 1960 in Zurich established \u201ctwo parallel European standards organisations\u201d which would cooperate with the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to reach agreements on common standards. CENELEC was then known as CENELCOM.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion of this anniversary, CEN and CENELEC launched several activities, including the \u201cFaces of Standardization\u201d project. It consists of a series of regular, monthly interviews to individuals who have been involved in different capacities in European standardization.
