The European Commission has launched on 7 December a public consultation on the future strategic framework for occupational health and safety (OHS). In particular, it is seeking the views of the competent national or regional public authorities (ministry, national OHS institute, labour inspectorate, etc.), employers and their organisations (business associations, professional associations, etc.), workers and their organisations, other EU institutions, organisations and citizens with an interest or expertise in the field: academics, research institutes, EU agencies, OHS professionals, public and private insurance organisations, non-governmental organisations, etc.<\/p>\n

Why this consultation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Commission is committed to guaranteeing the rights of EU workers. This concerns a high level of OHS and a working environment adapted to their professional needs allowing them to prolong their working life. The information and opinions gathered during this consultation will help to take stock of the current strategy which ends in 2020 and to prepare the new text. The aim is to do better for the period 2021-2027.<\/p>\n

The questionnaires are available in the official languages of the EU. For reasons of transparency, organisations and businesses taking part in public consultations are asked to register in the\u00a0EU\u2019s Transparency Register<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n
