The recommendations concern the following issues:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Investments in OSH to prevent work-related illnesses and accidents, thus reducing costs for absenteeism and work-related illnesses.<\/li>\n<li>A need to continue updating the EU OSH directives, matching the needs and demands of the new world of work.<\/li>\n<li>Mainstreaming OSH into other sectors or areas like environment, education, and procurement.<\/li>\n<li>New risks and new forms of work, and additional challenges to effective labour inspection.<\/li>\n<li>Health and safety issues related to platform workers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Commission&#8217;s public consultation is open until 1 March. These recommendations of the SLIC complement those already published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/france-le-coct-se-prononce-sur-le-futur-cadre-strategique-europeen-en-sst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Coct in France<\/span><\/a>, for example, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/12673-EU-StrategicFramework-on-Health-and-Safety-at-Work-2021-2027-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">opinions received by the Commission following the roadmap<\/span><\/a> it had published.
