It is at the heart of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work celebrated on 28 April (<a href=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/world-osh-day-3-questions-to-manal-azzi-ilo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">see our article<\/span><\/a>). And the Conference on the Future of Europe, launched in January 2020 for two years, has as its theme: \u201cBuilding a more resilient Europe\u201d. A multilingual and interactive platform, central to the Conference, has just been launched to allow for dialogue with citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe time has come to give new impetus to European democracy\u201d and for everyone to make their voice heard, 70 years after the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/european-union\/about-eu\/symbols\/europe-day\/schuman-declaration_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Schuman Declaration<\/span><\/a>\u201d. It was on 9 May 1950. Robert Schuman, the French Foreign Minister at the time, proposed the creation of a European institution that would bring together and manage the production of coal and steel. The ECSC Treaty was signed less than a year later. Robert Schuman&#8217;s proposal is considered the birth of the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/futureu.europa.eu\/?locale=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">platform<\/span><\/a> is structured around several major themes and cross-cutting issues. It should allow everyone to participate in an event, organise one and give their opinion on all the subjects they consider important for the future of the EU.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/news\/en\/press-room\/20210414IPR02003\/conference-on-the-future-of-europe-launch-of-the-multilingual-digital-platform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To find out more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Resilience is definitely on the agenda.
