In 2021, the Danish Working Environment Authority received 63,707 reports of occupational injuries, which is about 17,400 more than in 2020. This increase is overall due to Covid-19.<\/p>\n
The number of occupational injuries per 10,000 employees was 159 in 2020. This has increased to 219 in 2021. The Authority recorded 9,778 TAs in the category of \u201cinfection and intoxication\u201d, which corresponds to Covid-19 cases. In addition, it is estimated that just over 60% of the cases reported in the \u201cunidentified\u201d or \u201cother damage\u201d category are also related to Covid-19.<\/p>\n
In 2021, the majority of TAs resulted in 1 to 3 days off work (16,410) and 7 to 13 days (14,353). Victims had generally more than one year of seniority. The two most affected sectors are personal services and care and accommodation institutions and water, sewerage and waste management. For the first time, the former has come out on top, while the latter has been on top for seven consecutive years and would remain on top together with freight transport and construction if Covid-19 cases are excluded.<\/p>\n
The number of deaths (36) in 2021 is similar to that in 2019 and 2020. Men are the main victims of fatal accidents, especially in the sectors of \u201ctransport of goods\u201d and \u201cagriculture, forestry and fishing\u201d (respectively 9 and 6 deaths) in 2021, followed by construction (5 fatal accidents).<\/p>\n
