In 2021, 1,907 occupational diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract were reported, including 1,866 due to Covid-19. With 88 reports per 100,000 employees, they are thus in the lead, followed by mental and musculoskeletal disorders, neurological disorders and skin disorders.<\/p>\n

These are the findings of the report \u201cOccupational Diseases in Figures 2022\u201d published by the Netherlands Centre for Occupational Diseases (NCvB) on behalf of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. A total of 750 occupational physicians reported 4,520 occupational diseases (OD) to the National Register in 2021. In 91% of the cases, the victims were temporarily unable to work, often for more than a month. Permanent incapacity concerned 4% of these employees. The five economic sectors with the highest incidence are: hydraulic engineering and waste management, services, industry, energy supply, information and communication. For Covid-19 reports, these are health care, ambulance services, education, fire brigade, retail and road and passenger transport.<\/p>\n
