It is \u201ca pioneering proposal on the international scene to advance transparency\u201d. Written by a group of experts, the practical guide on the use of algorithms in the workplace published by the Ministry of Labour details the obligations of employers and the information that workers can request.<\/p>\n

Current regulations require companies to inform workers about the automated processing of their data. Workers have the right to know and understand the effects of the use of algorithms on certain aspects of their employment relationship: hiring, working conditions, working hours, performance evaluation, dismissals, etc.<\/p>\n

The guide also sets out the company’s obligations in terms of negotiating and auditing algorithms and assessing their impact. Finally, a questionnaire is included to identify and systematize the information obligations arising from the use of algorithms and automated decision-making systems in the workplace.<\/p>\n

Yolanda D\u00edaz, Minister of Labour, also announced the implementation of the Max algorithm, which will facilitate the control of overtime for the labour inspectorate.<\/p>\n
