Since the beginning of the pandemic, the social accident insurances (Berufsgenossenschaften<\/em> and Unfallkassen<\/em>) have received more than 350,000 reports of work-related Covid-19. They have recognized the occupational nature of the pathology in more than 228,600 cases. Since the beginning of 2022, the figures are higher than in 2021.<\/p>\n

As for the cases recognized since 2020, 195,739 have been recognized as occupational diseases, 20,452 as accidents at work and 12,496 as school accidents. For workers in the health and social care sector, who work in a laboratory or are particularly exposed to the risk in a similar way in another activity, the pathology is presumed to be occupational. For workers in other sectors, it is possible to declare an accident at work if there is clear evidence of an infection of occupational origin.<\/p>\n

Between 1 January and 30 June 2022, the majority of occupational disease reports, i.e. 131,757 cases, concern the health and welfare services (BGW). The total number of suspicion reports already far exceeds the figure for the whole of 2021 (111,126). Childcare, with 37,835 reports, is the most affected sector, followed by care (34,628) and hospitals (23,794). Comparing the data for 2020 and 2021, there is a decrease in serious and long-term illnesses.<\/p>\n
