{"id":30593,"date":"2022-09-30T18:23:57","date_gmt":"2022-09-30T16:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/a-high-level-expert-group-on-european-standardisation\/"},"modified":"2022-09-30T18:23:57","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T16:23:57","slug":"a-high-level-expert-group-on-european-standardisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/a-high-level-expert-group-on-european-standardisation\/","title":{"rendered":"A High Level Expert Group on European Standardisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission adopted on 1 September 2022 the decision establishing a High-level Forum (HLF), as announced in its standardisation strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The HLF will include representatives from the countries of the European Economic Area (27 EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) directly appointed by the competent authorities. A public call for applications will be launched in the coming weeks for all other members of the Forum, 60 in total. A first meeting is planned for the last quarter of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The Forum will assist the Commission in prioritising the work to be carried out in relation to existing European strategies: Green Pact, digital, artificial intelligence, electronic chips&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A number of elements seem to point in the direction of greater intervention by the Commission in the standardisation system at EU level, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the re-launch of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/harmonised-standards-a-new-contract-for-has-consultants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HAS consultant<\/span><\/a> system<\/li>\n<li>increased European funding to support stakeholders in their commitment to standardisation<\/li>\n<li>an evolution of the general framework on harmonised standards, with the systematic introduction of an alternative mechanism to standards, &#8220;technical specifications&#8221; that the European Commission would develop and approve itself in case of dissatisfaction with standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/docsroom\/documents\/48601\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To find out more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission adopted on 1 September 2022 the decision establishing a High-level Forum (HLF), as announced in its standardisation strategy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":25896,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[908],"class_list":["post-30593","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-standardization"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
