{"id":30654,"date":"2022-10-18T11:16:58","date_gmt":"2022-10-18T09:16:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/luxembourg-workplace-injuries-in-2021\/"},"modified":"2022-10-18T11:16:58","modified_gmt":"2022-10-18T09:16:58","slug":"luxembourg-workplace-injuries-in-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/luxembourg-workplace-injuries-in-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"LUXEMBOURG: Workplace injuries in 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a context where, despite the health crisis, the number of workers has increased significantly &#8211; 15,732 more in 2021 than in 2020 -, the 2021 annual report of the Accident Insurance Association (AAA) reveals the recognition of 13,712 accidents at work, 2,589 commuting accidents and 239 occupational diseases.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, the total number of claims has increased (+1,056 accidents and +143 commuting accidents) compared to 2020. But it is down compared to the reference year 2019, i.e. a decrease of 15% of occupational injuries and 29% of commuting accidents.<\/p>\n<p>The report clearly shows that the pandemic has continued to have a heavy impact on workplaces with an increase of about 88% in occupational diseases in 2021 compared to 2019. Infectious diseases are the main cause (93 cases). The number of fatal accidents has decreased.
