{"id":30829,"date":"2022-11-23T14:29:52","date_gmt":"2022-11-23T13:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/france-the-2021-occupational-risks-insurance-report-is-available\/"},"modified":"2022-12-27T11:00:11","modified_gmt":"2022-12-27T10:00:11","slug":"france-the-2021-occupational-risks-insurance-report-is-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/france-the-2021-occupational-risks-insurance-report-is-available\/","title":{"rendered":"FRANCE: The 2021 Occupational Risks Insurance report is available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Occupational injuries Branch of the Social Security system publishes the figures for the 2021 as well as the highlights of its activity, particularly in the field of prevention of accidents at work and occupational diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Concerning the claims rate (1) :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The number of accidents at work increased in 2021 compared to 2020 (604,565 accidents, i.e. +12%), but remains lower than before the health crisis (-7.8% compared to 2019). One accident out of two is related to manual handling and one out of three to falls from a height or a level.<\/li>\n<li>The number of fatal accidents (645) increases compared to 2020 but remains at a lower level than in 2019 (-88). More than half of these fatalities are illnesses and 12% are road traffic fatalities.<\/li>\n<li>The number of occupational diseases is up by 17.8% in 2021 compared to 2020, as is the number of victims, which increases in the same proportions, but remains lower than in 2019 (-4.3%). Musculoskeletal disorders still account for the vast majority of PM (86%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After a year 2020 marked by a mobilisation on the issues related to Covid-19, the Occupational injuries branch resumed the deployment of its prevention programmes for major occupational risks: musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), chemical products and falls.<\/p>\n<p>To find out more:<br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/France-Key-Features-of-2021-OSH.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Key Features of 2021 Health and safety in the workplace<\/span><\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/assurance-maladie.ameli.fr\/sites\/default\/files\/rapport_annuel_2021_de_lassurance_maladie_-_risques_professionnels_novembre_2022_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Annual report 2021<\/span><\/a>(in French &#8211; Studies and data area)<\/p>\n<p>(1) The Covid-19 pandemic had a strong downward impact on the number of claims in 2020 by bringing a large number of economic activities to a halt.
