Resources are also available for teachers.<\/p>\n<p>Every year, work-related cancer affects more than 120,000 Europeans and causes almost 80,000 deaths, i.e. 53% of all work-related deaths. Employers have a legal obligation to ensure safety by identifying risks and taking appropriate preventive measures. (Future) employees need to know how to protect themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The game asks players to identify risks in different workplaces (construction site, hospital and factory) and advise the employer according to the \u201cSTOP\u201d principle, which establishes a hierarchy of preventive measures to be taken:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>S<\/strong>ubstitution of dangerous substances,<\/li>\n<li>the introduction of <strong>T<\/strong>echnical measures to prevent or limit the release of carcinogenic substances, such as the use of adequate extraction at the source of the risk or ventilation,<\/li>\n<li><strong>O<\/strong>rganisational measures such as limiting exposure time,<\/li>\n<li>and the use of <strong>P<\/strong>ersonal Protective Equipment as a last resort, when exposure cannot be avoided by other means.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beswic.be\/fr\/actualites-et-evenements\/nouveau-jeu-interactif-pour-sensibiliser-les-etudiants-aux-agents-cancerigenes-sur-le-lieu-de-travail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To find out more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SPF Employment is launching an interactive game as part of the European \u201cRoadmap on Carcinogens\u201d campaign to raise students&#8217; awareness of the dangers of carcinogenic substances in the workplace.
