Since 1st February 2024, the system of smileys for the working environment, in force for over 15 years, has disappeared. It is to be replaced next summer by a new system that is more transparent and more focused on prevention.<\/p>\n

Until now, the Work Environment Authority awarded the company visited a red, yellow or green smiley face depending on its efforts in terms of the working environment. Companies that had a certificate for their working environment could even be awarded a \u201ccrown smiley\u201d. But the programme did not include all the companies visited, and a green smiley face, for example, could be misinterpreted as a validation of the working environment.<\/p>\n

The new system will include all Danish and foreign companies that have been inspected in the last six months. It will indicate which companies have received a ‘decision’ relating to their working environment and what the problem is. The aim is not only to increase transparency, but also to motivate companies to take care of their working environment and help make it preventive, safe and healthy. The Authority will publish on its website a list of companies that have a valid working environment certificate.<\/p>\n
