Safety is a priority for the Construction company BAM, including the risks associated with heat and the sun. That’s why it has a special protocol: protection, vests with cooling gel, longer breaks, awareness-raising material, unlimited water and sun cream, etc.<\/p>\n
The risks associated with working in hot weather depend not only on the temperature, but also on UV radiation, humidity and the physical condition of the worker. BAM has defined four risk levels, which correspond to specific measures to be implemented, which may vary depending on the construction project in terms of type of work, schedule and location.<\/p>\n
BAM provides its employees with protective clothing free of charge, including hard hats with neck protection and cooling vests. Water and unlimited amounts of sunscreen are also available in the hut. At higher risk levels, the operator can provide shade with parasols and awnings, postpone heavy work, arrange longer breaks for drinking and resting, or even stop the site in extreme cases.<\/p>\n
At the same time, BAM is running a company-wide awareness campaign using videos and posters. Employees are encouraged to apply sunscreen every two hours, drink more water and wear the personal protective equipment provided by their employer.<\/p>\n
