The Institute for Occupational Safety of the German Statutory Accident Insurance (IFA) has launched a new free database dedicated to best practice in preventing work-related cancers, which were the cause of around 1,500 deaths in 2023.<\/p>\n

The project is the result of collaboration with accident insurers, the L\u00e4nder, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA). Micro and small companies, which often lack the resources to manage carcinogenic substances, should be particularly interested. The database also includes regulatory references and risk assessment tools.<\/p>\n

The project, which is part of the Joint German Occupational Safety Strategy, will initially focus on the twelve most common substances. Information can be searched by sector, activity or type of protection. All companies are invited to share their good practice.<\/p>\n
