{"id":33412,"date":"2024-11-12T17:37:31","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T16:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/directives-needed-to-make-work-safe-for-digital-age\/"},"modified":"2024-12-02T17:16:01","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T16:16:01","slug":"directives-needed-to-make-work-safe-for-digital-age","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/directives-needed-to-make-work-safe-for-digital-age\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cDirectives needed to make work safe for digital age\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is calling on the European Union to act quickly to achieve the \u2018laudable\u2019 objective of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU OSHA) to promote \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/healthy-workplaces.osha.europa.eu\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>safe and healthy work in the digital age<\/u><\/a>\u2019 on the occasion of European Week for Safety and Health at Work.<\/p>\n<p>It is calling for guidelines on the following subjects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teleworking and the right to disconnect: people who regularly work from home are six times more likely to work in their free time; the ETUC is calling for the second phase of <a href=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/teletravail-et-droit-a-la-deconnexion-la-commission-lance-la-1ere-phase-de-consultation-des-partenaires-sociaux\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>consultation<\/u><\/a> to be brought forward.<\/li>\n<li>Stress at work, \u2018which is the cause of over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etui.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-04\/Chapter2_Labour%20market%20and%20social%20developments%20in%20the%20EU%20the%20quest%20for%20strong%20jobs%20recovery_2024.pdf#page=22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>40% of cases of depression<\/u><\/a> in the EU and the UK and costs the European economy \u20ac620 billion a year. Despite this, less than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etui.org\/publications\/case-eu-directive-addressing-work-related-psychological-risks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>40% of EU workplaces<\/u><\/a> have action plans to prevent psychosocial risks.
