Compared with the previous year, this represents a 4% increase in occupational accidents and a 10% rise in commuting accidents. The frequency rate of occupational accidents also increased, reaching 25.4 cases per million hours worked, compared with 24.6 in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>According to analyses by the Finnish Accident Insurance Centre TVK, the particularly snowy start to the year could explain the high number of accidents due to slipping, tripping or falling. These account for the majority (23%) of accidents at work, and nearly 80% of commuting accidents. The increase in commuting accidents was particularly marked between January and April, confirming the influence of weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Social work, care services and education are the sectors with the highest increase in occupational accidents. This increase is linked in particular to the rise in cases of workplace violence, with 6.274 incidents recorded in 2024.
