Since 1992, April has officially been Stress Awareness Month<\/strong> in the UK. To mark the occasion, the UK’s national occupational health and safety regulator (HSE) has launched a campaign entitled ”Working Minds<\/em>”, aimed at promoting good mental health in the workplace.<\/p>\n

For the 2025 edition, the campaign invites employers to follow five key steps during the five weeks of April to prevent and reduce stress in the workplace<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Reach<\/strong>\u00a0out\u00a0<\/strong>and have conversations<\/li>\n
  2. Recognise<\/strong> the signs and causes of stress<\/li>\n
  3. Respond<\/strong> to any risks you\u2019ve identified<\/li>\n
  4. Reflect<\/strong> on actions you\u2019ve agreed and taken<\/li>\n
  5. and make it Routine<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This five “R” campaign is all the more widely followed because the HSE points out three reasons why employers should promote good mental health: “It’s the law, it’s good for business and it’s the right thing to do<\/strong><\/em>“. ”Working Minds<\/em>” brings together a series of tools to help companies and workers, such as free online training, documentary resources, a discussion toolbox and risk assessment templates.<\/p>\n

    NB<\/strong>: After publishing a report on the recognition of work-related mental disorders as an accident at work and\/or occupational disease in 7 European countries<\/a><\/span>, EUROGIP will be publishing a report in a few weeks’ time on the prevention of psychosocial risks at work in Europe and internationally<\/strong>.
