{"id":34034,"date":"2025-05-20T16:08:01","date_gmt":"2025-05-20T14:08:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/switzerland-a-national-challenge-for-safe-commuting\/"},"modified":"2025-05-20T16:08:01","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T14:08:01","slug":"switzerland-a-national-challenge-for-safe-commuting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/en\/switzerland-a-national-challenge-for-safe-commuting\/","title":{"rendered":"SWITZERLAND: a national challenge for safe commuting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every year from May to June, over 100,000 Swiss employees take part in the &#8220;<strong>Bike to work<\/strong>&#8221; team challenge, a national initiative designed to promote the safe use of bicycles for home-to-work journeys.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, <strong>a significant proportion of cycling accidents occur during work-related journeys<\/strong>, making it an integral part of workplace health and safety policy.<\/p>\n<p>Bicycle journeys can lead to collisions with other vehicles, falls, etc., due in particular to the specific risks associated with this type of mobility: being &#8220;caught&#8221;, blind spots, poor visibility in poor weather conditions, etc.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why <strong>Suva<\/strong>, one of the pillars of the Swiss social insurance system, is a partner in this challenge.
