According to the report, <strong>2.583 new cases were reported during the year<\/strong> (+ 34 COVID cases), <strong>representing a slight increase for the first time since 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Some 17% more than the previous year, <strong>690 occupational physicians<\/strong> made these declarations: 557 practicing within an occupational health and safety service (OHS), 122 as self-employed, and 11 working both for an OHS service and as self-employed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-34083 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101436-300x164.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"659\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101436-300x164.png 300w, https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101436-768x420.png 768w, https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101436.png 844w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 659px) 100vw, 659px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the sectors recording the highest number of PM declarations will be <strong>construction<\/strong>, <strong>transport and storage<\/strong>, and <strong>wholesale and retail trade<\/strong>. Men are likely to be slightly more affected (52%) than women (48%).<\/p>\n<p>Types of pathologies reported in 2024 :<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-34085 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101930-300x253.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101930-300x253.png 300w, https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101930-768x648.png 768w, https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101930.png 797w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Musculoskeletal disorders on the rise since 2022<\/h1>\n<p>In 2024, 741 musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) were recorded, representing <strong>28% of the total number of occupational diseases, or 151 more than the previous year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-34081 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101418-300x193.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"578\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101418-300x193.png 300w, https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101418-768x494.png 768w, https:\/\/eurogip.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Capture-decran-2025-06-03-101418.png 869w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 578px) 100vw, 578px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The most frequent pathologies are<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>subacromial pain syndrome: 83 cases,<\/li>\n<li>tennis elbow: 75 cases,<\/li>\n<li>carpal tunnel syndrome: 51 cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It should be noted that <strong>MSDs occur mainly in people over the age of 40<\/strong> (78% of cases), and often lead to work stoppages: 29% exceed six months, and 10% result in permanent disability. The main risk factors identified are :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>carrying heavy loads (23%),<\/li>\n<li>repeated arm movements (16%),<\/li>\n<li>heavy manual effort (11%),<\/li>\n<li>pushing and pulling (9%),<\/li>\n<li>kneeling or squatting (6%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Psychological disorders in 1st position for declared PMs<\/h1>\n<p>In 2024, <strong>59% of occupational diseases reported in the Netherlands were linked to psychological disorders<\/strong>, representing 1,543 cases. Overwork, burnout, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were the most frequent pathologies. In 2024, <strong>government and public administration<\/strong> were the sectors most affected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It should be remembered that the Netherlands has no specific insurance for occupational risks<\/strong>. As a result, <strong>the data<\/strong> published by the NCvB, intended primarily for those involved in occupational health prevention in the Netherlands (government, employers, trade unions, occupational health services, etc.), <strong>are not comparable with those of other European countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the latter countries, data on occupational diseases are provided by the occupational injury and disease insurance schemes (AT\/MP), for which <strong>recognition of the occupational nature of a disease gives entitlement to specific benefits<\/strong> which are more advantageous than those granted by the sickness and disability insurance schemes.
