New provisions regarding employers\u2019 reporting of workplace accidents are taking effect.<\/p>\n

Previously in Denmark, an employer was required to report a workplace accident if it resulted in the injured person being absent from their usual job beyond the day of the accident<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Since the 1st July 2026, the reporting requirement now applies only if the absence lasts at least three days following the day of the injury.<\/b><\/p>\n

In fact, Act No. 1626 of December 16, 2025<\/u><\/a>, amending the Act on Workers\u2019 Compensation Insurance<\/u><\/a>, which took effect th 1st July 2026, now stipulates that the employer is only required to report the workplace accident if it \u201chas resulted in at least 3 days of absence from the victim\u2019s usual work, in addition to the day of the accident.<\/em>\u201d (Article 31(1))<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n

However, accidents that may entitle the victim to compensation or other benefits must still be reported, and the reporting deadline remains 14 days.<\/p>\n
