The final version of ISO/DIS 45001 – “Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use” – is now ready in English. The national standardization bodies of the EU countries will start translating the text into the European languages with a view to its publication in their Official Journals.

Following the two months reserved for translation of the DIS (Draft International Standard) document, international consultation will be launched from 12 February to 12 May 2016.

To optimize these three months of consultation, a very tight agenda has been adopted for France:

12 February to 20 March 2016: Online PUBLIC ENQUIRY (FR and EN versions) – This is the only time when people who are not members of the Afnor standardization commission X82A can make their technical comments on the draft.

Three meetings to analyse the comments received have already been scheduled for the second half of April, bringing together the members of the Afnor X82A Commission and people outside the commission who expressed comments during the public enquiry.

The comments accepted by consensus during these meetings of the French X82A Commission will then be translated into English by Afnor, validated by the French experts and sent before 12 May to the Secretariat of ISO PC283. The Secretariat will then draw up a document containing all the comments received from the member countries and one or two meetings of WG 1 of ISO PC283 will be held, probably in June and September 2016.

The prISO/DIS 45001 draft is expected to be put to a formal vote in the autumn or winter of 2016, for publication in early 2017.
