As part of its occupational safety and health (OSH) standardisation activity, EUROGIP monitors the publication of standards, new subjects on standardisation programmes and consultations at European (CEN) or international (ISO) level.

As standards are the result of a consensus between stakeholders, do not hesitate, if you are interested in the subject, to position yourself and participate.

NETHERLANDS: health and safety for temporary workers remains a challenge

In November, 69% of the 172 companies inspected were in breach of the rules on working conditions for temporary workers. In addition, 12% were partially or totally closed due to serious risks, such as working at height or using dangerous machinery.

A major development in the drafting of international standards: the mandatory adoption of OSDs

On 1 January 2025, the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) will require the use of an online collaborative tool - OSD, for Online Standards Development - for the development of standards, from the preparatory stage through to publication, replacing the Word word processor frequently used until now.

Continuous handling systems go beyond simply moving objects. They include actions such as storage, production or order picking. Their use can lead to serious accidents. Preventing such accidents is a priority for the French Occupational Injuries and Diseases Branch (Branche AT/MP), which is playing an active role in standardisation work.
