Mental health at work: various European resources available

Home > The news of EUROGIP and occupational risks in Europe > Mental health at work: various European resources available

Mental health at work will be at the heart of EU-OSHA’s Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2026-2028. It already offers a range of resources to support people suffering from mental health problems at work, including:

  • A report ‘Advice for workplaces on how to support people with mental health problems’; changing the environment, working hours and patterns, as well as tasks and equipment, are some of the practical measures that can help and retain workers following sickness absence. The report also recommends adopting the same approach as for physical health problems.
  • A review of good workplace practice in supporting people with mental health problems.
  • A note on a set of policy recommendations.
  • A thematic section on the web entitled ‘Psychosocial risks and mental health at work’.

In addition, and going beyond the work context, a European portal references 29 best or promising practices in the field of mental health. Finally, in June 2023, the Commission adopted a Communication on a comprehensive European approach to mental health.
