DENMARK: a new system soon to replace the smileys awarded to companies

Since 1st February 2024, the system of smileys for the working environment, in force for over 15 years, has disappeared. It is to be replaced next summer by a new system that is more transparent and more focused on prevention.

Lead and diisocyanates: Council approves new limit values

The new directive adopted today reduces the occupational exposure limit values for lead and its compounds, which are toxic to reproduction, by a factor of five, and introduces new limit values for diiosocyanates, to which 4.2 million workers are exposed and which can cause asthma and skin diseases.

FRANCE: Young people leaving vocational training courses are poorly trained in workplace risks

Nearly nine out of ten young people (87%) leaving CAP and baccalauréat vocational training courses are exposed to at least one occupational hazard, and nearly six out of ten (58%) to three or more hazards in the workplace, three years after leaving training.

ECHA: five new chemicals of concern added to the list

On 23 January 2024, the European Chemicals Agency extended the list of substances of very high concern for man or the environment that are candidates for authorisation to include five chemicals. One is toxic to reproduction, three are very persistent and bioaccumulative, and one presents multiple risks.
