FINLAND: Serious accidents at work are becoming less frequent

An analysis over two decades shows that there are fewer and fewer accidents at work and commuting accidents resulting in incapacity for work of more than 30 days, and that more and more accidents only result in short-term incapacity for work.

Towards better protection for workers exposed to lead and diisocyanates

Determined to improve workers' health and safety, the Council of the EU and the European Parliament reached a provisional compromise on 14 November to lower the limit values for lead and, for the first time, to set limit values for diisocyanates.

SPAIN: analysis of workplace mortality between 2020 and 2022

The National Institute for Health and Safety at Work (INSST) has analysed the 572 fatal accidents at work (excluding commuting accidents, traffic accidents and accidents involving covids) that have been studied over the period 2020-2022. In addition to gaining a better understanding of the causes, the aim is to define appropriate measures to prevent any recurrence.

SWEDEN: winter heralds increased risk of fall-related accidents at work

The drop in temperatures and the arrival of snow are leading to fears of a possible increase in falls outdoors, the most frequent cause of serious accidents at work. Between 2020 and 2021, around 2,700 such accidents were recorded, 2/3 of them between November and March.

EUROGIP is to launch a web series on occupational risks in Europe

Many of you have taken part in the EUROGIP Discussions since they were launched in 2003. The aim of this annual conference was to provide a European perspective on occupational risks in relation to a topical issue: the changing world of work, work-related mental diseases, financial incentives for prevention, digital technology, etc. With the same objective in mind, EUROGIP is preparing to launch a series of videos on the Internet.
