The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) has just kicked off the European Week for Safety and Health at Work, the theme of the 2024 edition of which is ‘Safe and healthy work in the digital age’.

As part of this annual initiative to promote health and safety at work, a host of events including seminars, exhibitions and film screenings are being organised across Europe by EU-OSHA’s national focal points, official campaign partners and media partners.

EU-OSHA is inviting everyone to get involved: ‘Help us spread the message about #EUhealthyworkplaces on your social media. Let’s put safety and health at work at the heart of this European Week’.

NETHERLANDS: a roofer’s commitment to UV protection

Ed van der Want, a roofer for 38 years, developed skin cancer as a result of prolonged exposure to UV rays. After several operations, he became an advocate for sun protection on building sites and won a change in the collective agreement for his sector.
