GERMANY: Harassment is old-fashioned

Home > The news of EUROGIP and occupational risks in Europe > GERMANY: Harassment is old-fashioned

The BGs and injury insurance funds for the public sector have launched on the social networks the second video, entitled “The Adapter“, of their kommmitmensch OSH campaign on the theme of the work atmosphere.

The scene takes place in a meeting room. The new recruit is trying desperately to connect the video projector to his laptop computer but is unable to do so, he simply doesn’t have the right adapter. Two members of the team start to make fun of him nastily. The scene culminates with the discovery that one of them has stolen the adapters.

“The video illustrates provocatively to what extent, through their behaviour, everyone contributes to the work atmosphere,” says Gregor Doepke, head of communication in the DGUV. “All the workers perceive the social environment which prevails in their firm and influences the company’s people and personality, and which can also have repercussions for workers’ health. Respect and trust are essential for a good work atmosphere with mutual esteem. This can even become a factor of success.”
