The campaign by the International Labour Organization (ILO) on the occasion of the 2017 World Day for Safety and Health at Work points to the crucial necessity for countries to improve their capacity for collecting and using reliable OSH data.
Goal 8 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development stresses the will to “Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment. For this goal, countries are invited to report on the following indicator: Frequency of fatal and non-fatal occupational injuries, by migrant gender and status”.
In order to help the Member States improve their capacity for the collection and use of reliable OSH data, the ILO has created a toolbox with appropriate resources and fact sheets.
