The 2023-2025 edition of the EU-OSHA Healthy Workplaces Campaign is underway. The aim is to raise awareness of the impact of new digital technologies on work and workplaces, and the challenges and opportunities they present for occupational safety and health (OSH).

The Agency is publishing two new reports on this occasion:

  • Smart digital monitoring systems for occupational safety and health: uses and challenges. The document presents examples of good practice in successfully integrating these systems in the workplace.
  • Smart digital monitoring systems for occupational safety and health: workplace resources for design, implementation and use. Whether proactive (prevention) or reactive (mitigation), the report provides an overview of what works and what needs to be improved. It provides food for thought for policy makers, the research community and business. It also highlights the importance of worker participation and a people-centred approach.

In line with the “Vision Zero” approach outlined in the European Union’s Strategic Framework for Health and Safety at Work 2021-2027 and Europe’s Digital Agenda, the new campaign is structured around five priority areas:

  • Digital platform work
  • Advanced robotics and artificial intelligence
  • Remote work
  • Smart digital systems
  • Worker management through artificial intelligence
