FRANCE: The essential 2023 report from the occupational injuries insurance scheme is online

Home > The news of EUROGIP and occupational risks in Europe > FRANCE: The essential 2023 report from the occupational injuries insurance scheme is online

The 2023 Key Features – Health and safety in the workplace provides an overview of the key figures for the general scheme relating to accidents at work, commuting accidents and occupational diseases. It also looks at compensation for victims and provides data on the Branch, such as the financial balance sheet and the prevention measures implemented.

The data for 2023 are in line with those for the previous year, with a fall in the overall number of claims compared with the period preceding the health crisis. However, while accidents at work resulting in more than 3 days’ absence from work (the usual indicator for the occupational injuries and diseases branch) fell by 1.5%, commuting accidents and occupational diseases increased by 5.1% and 7.3% respectively.

Prevention initiatives included the implementation of various programmes to combat musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), psychosocial risks and exposure to hazardous substances. In addition, a large number of initiatives are carried out in collaboration with companies, notably through agreements or subsidies to improve working conditions.
