The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is organising an international symposium entitled “Driving health forward: Health care for truck drivers across borders” on 3 June 2026 in Hamburg, Germany.

The symposium brings together European experts in occupational health, social protection and road transport to address key issues related to the health, safety and well-being of long-distance lorry drivers, particularly in the context of increasing cross-border mobility.


WHO CAN ATTEND?

This symposium is open to anyone involved in prevention, occupational health and risk management in the road transport sector, including occupational health and prevention professionals, representatives of transport and logistics companies, HR and road safety managers, institutional actors in social protection, and experts in cross-border cooperation and regulation.


SYMPOSIUM TOPICS

Presentations will focus on:

  • access to healthcare for drivers working internationally
  • living and working conditions for long-distance drivers
  • management of medical emergencies outside the country of origin
  • models of cross-border cooperation in healthcare
  • innovations in telemedicine and mobile health services
