Symposium – 28 and 29 January 2027, in Paris, France
The National Institute for Research and Safety (INRS) and the Professional Organization for Prevention in the Building and Public Works Sector (OPPBTP) are organizing an international symposium on asbestos titled “Risk Prevention and Control in the Construction Sector”

Symposium Objectives
Asbestos, which is still present in many buildings, infrastructure, and equipment, remains a major occupational health issue. It is therefore essential to continue preventing the associated risks in order to protect the health and safety of workers in the construction and public works sector.
To mark the 30rd anniversary of the ban on asbestos in France, the INRS and the OPPBTP are organizing an international symposium dedicated to the prevention and control of this risk.
This symposium aims to share the latest scientific knowledge regarding health effects, identification, measurement, management, and protection of exposed workers. It will bring together national and international experts to present the current state of toxicological and epidemiological knowledge, risk management policies, and prevention measures implemented in various countries; to share lessons learned; and to encourage reflection on future prospects and the need to harmonize practices for enhanced prevention.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
This event is intended for all stakeholders involved in asbestos risk prevention: researchers, prevention specialists, occupational health and safety personnel, representatives of public authorities, companies and professional organizations, clients, and others.
