An online tool from the KAN for ergonomic machinery

Home > The news of EUROGIP and occupational risks in Europe > An online tool from the KAN for ergonomic machinery

The “KAN Praxis” online training module, intended for the writers of ergonomics standards, machinery manufacturers and designers and the buyers of machines and installations, is now available in English.

It gives examples of machines and machine components which comply with the ergonomic criteria of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and those of the EN 13861 Standard “Safety of machinery – Guidance for the application of ergonomics standards in the design of machinery”. KAN Praxis also gives examples of methods to mitigate ergonomic risks. It is possible to do a search by load (physical, mental or environmental) and by machine type.

The project was developed by the German Commission for Occupational Health and Safety and Standardization (KAN), in partnership with two universities and the national insurance organization DGUV.
