EUROGIP was asked by Enjeux, the standardization and management magazine published by the AFNOR Group, to contribute to the feature entitled “AI and OHS: France and Germany on the defensive”, published in June 2025 (n°455).

In this article, Raphaël Haeflinger, Director of EUROGIP, and Pierre Belingard, in charge of coordinating French notified bodies, share their analyses of the integration of artificial intelligence into occupational health and safety standards.

In their view, the technology, however promising, needs to be assessed in terms of its effectiveness in preventing occupational hazards. They also highlight the uncertainties posed by certain AI applications, particularly when they are based on machine learning approaches, which are still not very transparent.

In this respect, EUROGIP is one of the six European prevention organizations to have signed the joint declaration on OSH standardization policy, calling for caution in the integration of AI into these standards.
