High temperatures at work: guidelines for workplaces

Heat stress is a risk for workers, both indoors and outdoors, and in all sectors of activity. A new guide from EU-OSHA, available in 22 languages, offers employers and workers practical ways - both organizational and technical - to mitigate, manage and train for this occupational risk, which is all the more important with climate change.

The Council in favour of better protection for workers against chemicals

The Council is ready to start negotiations with the European Parliament on a new initiative to protect workers from the health risks associated with exposure to dangerous chemicals. This follows the proposal for a directive presented by the Commission on 13 February 2023 on limit values for diisocyanates, lead and its inorganic compounds.

The new Machinery Regulation has been adopted

On 22 May, the Council adopted the new European regulation on machinery. The text, which replaces the 2006 directive, specifies the essential health and safety requirements applicable in the EU, facilitates the free movement of machinery and guarantees a high level of safety for workers and the general public.
