The 3rd episode of the “Discussions d’EUROGIP” series is devoted to platform workers and more specifically to the new European Directive (EU) 2024/2831 of 23 October 2024 aimed at improving their working conditions.
It gives the floor to Tea Jarc, Confederal Secretary at the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
After a presentation of some figures concerning platforms and platform workers in the EU, Tea gave more information about the profile of platform workers. She then answered our questions about:
- The need of a European Directive
- What the directive (EU) 2024/2831 will change
- What are the challenges ahead with transposition and implementation of the Directive, with an group of experts.
Furthermore, Tea announced the idea to have a new specific directive on algorithmic management which covers all workers, not just platform ones.
