During the month of May, EUROGIP was invited to various events to share its expertise in France and abroad. From the training of magistrates to the hosting of a Korean delegation, via a European seminar, each meeting was marked by the quality of the discussions and the desire to make collective progress in occupational health and safety (OHS).
Presentation at the National School of Magistrates: deciphering European approaches to occupational risks
Three EUROGIP representatives (Raphaël Haeflinger, Christine Kieffer and Marie Pendaries) spoke to some fifty magistrates as part of a one-day training session at the French National School of Magistrates. Their presentation focused on a European overview of accidents at work and occupational illnesses, highlighting :
- the main features of occupational injury insurance systems,
- company pricing mechanisms,
- statistics on claims at work,
- compensation procedures for victims,
- recognition of mental illnesses as occupational diseases.
This session illustrated European disparities and convergences in this field, highlighting the decisive role of insurance parameters in the interpretation of statistics.
Intervention in London: shedding light on work-life balance in France
In keeping with its mission to represent the Accidents du Travail – Maladies Professionnelles (AT/MP) branch abroad, EUROGIP was invited to London on May 15 to take part in a European seminar devoted to OHS. During the session entitled “Keeping people healthy: OHS and work-life balance“, Anna Piazza spoke on behalf of EUROGIP to present French policies promoting better work-life balance. Her presentation covered initiatives such as :
- the right to disconnect,
- legal requirements for teleworking,
- reduced working hours (RTT)
- company agreements on quality of working life (QWL),
- experiments with the 4-day week in the public and private sectors.
The presentation attracted a great deal of interest from the European participants.
A Korean delegation visits EUROGIP: an exchange of views on occupational injury insurance
EUROGIP was delighted to welcome four researchers from the Korean Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Department (COMWEL) to its premises, as part of an international cooperation agreement signed in 2022. This privileged moment of exchange enabled us to answer their questions concerning several aspects of the French system, such as :
- calculation of reference income,
- benefits paid in the event of temporary or permanent disability,
- the administrative mechanisms of occupational injury insurance,
- specific coverage for self-employed workers and workers on digital platforms.
In-depth discussions that fed into mutual reflection on compensation and prevention issues on a global scale.
The EUROGIP team looks forward to continuing this dialogue with its partners in France and abroad, in the service of a better understanding of occupational health and safety for the benefit of all.
