DENMARK: campaign to combat dust on building sites

Dust from any source is very common on construction sites. It is dangerous to health when it enters the lungs. The Danish Working Environment Authority's communication and inspection campaign is therefore aimed at alerting craftsmen to the preventive measures they need to take or face immediate injunction.

Provisional agreement on a minimum wage in the EU

The Council and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on 7th June on a new EU directive to establish a framework for “adequate minimum wages” in Europe. The aim is not to set a common European minimum wage.

Occupational Covid-19 infections recorded between January and April 2022 currently represent 24.5% of the total number of cases reported since January 2020. In four months, the number has surpassed that recorded for the whole of 2021.

SWEDEN: more serious accidents in construction

In 2020, workers in the construction industry, representing 8% of the total number of employees in the private sector, had a higher than average risk of serious accidents at work, especially the youngest and oldest.
