OHS standardisation: some good tips for reaching consensus
The French “accidents at work/occupational diseases” insurance has been delegating experts from its institutions (CARSAT, CRAMIF, INRS, EUROGIP) to contribute to the development of occupational health and safety (OHS) standards for many years. EUROGIP coordinates this activity and has published a brochure for them with some advice.

GREAT BRITAIN: at least 2 million people affected by Covid long
This is according to the REACT-2 study, led by Imperial College London and funded by the Department of Health and Social Care. Between September 2020 and February 2021, researchers surveyed more than 500,000 people in a random sample to find out if they had had Covid-19 (confirmed or suspected) and persistent symptoms.

European occupational disease statistics: the new Eurostat project
With its new EODS pilot project, Eurostat aims to collect national data on occupational diseases in a single database and to provide trends on the most recognised at European level.

GERMANY: 2 new diseases on the list of occupational diseases
Hip osteoarthritis due to heavy lifting and lung cancer due to passive smoking will be included in the list of occupational diseases. This follows an amendment to the Ordinance on Occupational Diseases which will come into force on 1 August 2021.
