Raphaël HAEFLINGER
Director
With legal training, Raphaël Haeflinger began his career at the French Health Insurance in 1993. Initially responsible for negotiating agreements with healthcare professionals, he was subsequently appointed Chief of staff at the National Health Insurance Fund’s General Directorate from 1997 to 2002. In 2003, he joined the Occupational Risk Insurance sector to negotiate its first Objectives and Management Agreement (COG) with the French State, and then served as Director of the Occupational Risk Insurance Department from 2004 to 2007. Since July 2007, he has been Director of EUROGIP, an organization tasked with developing and coordinating French occupational accident and disease insurance initiatives at the European and international levels.
Coordinates the activities of insurance standardization experts for work-related accidents and occupational diseases who participate in the development of French, European, and international standards on occupational health and safety (OHS); manages a network of organizations responsible for certifying machinery and personal protective equipment so that these products can circulate freely on the European market.

Conducts studies and comparative surveys between different European countries on occupational diseases (musculoskeletal disorders, mental health conditions, cancers, etc.) and workplace accidents (fatal falls, injuries, burns, etc.).

Provides ongoing monitoring at European and international level; shares European information, work and news with the entire network; promotes transnational exchanges and collaboration through participation in events, conferences, meetings and community projects.

Coordinates international activities relating to occupational accident and disease insurance; participates in projects of community interest, particularly on behalf of the European Commission, such as calls for tenders relating to occupational accidents and diseases; provides services on behalf of organisations that have responded to such calls for tenders and participates in consortiums.
