The new Machinery Regulation, adopted on 14 June and repealing the 2006 Directive, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 29 June.

It therefore comes into force on the 20th day following its publication and is applicable from 14 January 2027, although a number of articles apply before then.

To find out everything you need to know about this new text, EUROGIP, in collaboration with the ETUI, will be publishing a comparative guide – article by article – between Directive 2006/42/EC and Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 at the beginning of July.
