The European Commission is currently preparing its standardisation work programme for 2021. This is provided for in European Regulation 1025/2012. This year, the programme will have to be articulated with the European Recovery Plan adopted on 27 May 2020.

Among the priority ecosystems to which European standardisation can contribute, the Commission has already identified 14: digital, health, agri-food, renewable energy, low-carbon energy-intensive industry, mobility, electronics, textiles, aerospace and defence, creative and cultural industries, tourism, social and community economy, retail, construction.

CEN and CENELEC have started work to identify the relevant structures and documents for each of these ecosystems.
