Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been added to the list of biological agents that can cause disease in humans (Risk Group 3).

Decree no. 1652 on biological agents and the working environment, which will come into force on 24 November 2020, defines the safety requirements for work that exposes or is likely to expose the worker to these agents. The amendments it introduces are in line with WHO recommendations and European Directive 2020/739 of 3 June 2020. Prior to their adoption, they were discussed at the Working Environment Council, composed of representatives of the social partners. They also reflect what was announced by the Danish Working Environment Authority in March 2020.

Some technical adjustments have been made to the annexes to the decree as a result of new scientific knowledge.
