This work was one of the priorities in the New Strategic Framework for Health and Safety 2021-2027. With a view to better protecting workers, the Commission is publishing the studies which aimed to provide it with the most recent, up-to-date and robust information on exposure to lead and its compounds, asbestos and diisocyanates.

The aim was to support the Commission in its future work on the revision or introduction of limit values – occupational exposure values (OELs), short-term exposure values (STEVs) and biological exposure values (BEVs) – in the context of possible amendments to Directives 98/24/EC (chemical agents) and 2009/148/EC (asbestos).
